If you’re ready to stick your toe in the water or just plain jump in head first with excitement about Office 2016, now you can! Microsoft released the preview of Office 2016 for IT Pros and Developers. As the disclaimer states, it doesn’t have all of the features of the final product but it does give you a chance to at least get your feet wet and explore.

So while we don’t know everything that Microsoft has in store for Office 2016, here are a few of things to get excited about:

  • Data Loss Protection (DLP) for Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • IT Pros request for Click-to-Run deployment
  • Technical improvements to Outlook improving overall performance, search functionality, and            storage management
  • Information Rights Management (IRM) for Visio diagrams

If you’re interested in getting your feet wet, or maybe just your baby toe, hit the Microsoft Connect site to register and download the Office 2016 Preview.

For those who know me, excitement is one thing that I enjoy, but jumping in too early on a new release is completely different, so I’m going to sit back with a bevy or two and wait for a stable release that is production-ready and be watching for reviews from you who are testing the waters with the Preview.

Cheers!
